This post has no purpose other than to see if my RSS reader at work will be able to read this :-)
We leave for our trip tomorrow after work...I'll have an update on the fall foilage, the snow, and progress on Samus when we return...

Some progress on Samus |
I finished the cable waist band and picked up 204(!) stitches for the body. This stockinette seems endless!
I love the way stockinette looks when using Lamb's Pride. There is an article on Knitty that explains why it looks like this. I found it pretty interesting. I had noticed that different yarns produced stitches that looked different but didn't know why. Here is a close up of the stockinette.
Hubby is taking me away this coming weekend. I will have at least a 2 hour ride on Friday night and another 2 hour ride on Saturday until we get to our destination. I plan to take Samus with me so I can work on the body. Funny thing...when I told hubby I was going to bring my knitting with me on our get away...he said I could not knit in the heart shaped tub!?!? :-)

Finally, an update |
I have been a bad blogger! The only excuse I have for not posting n 10 days is the batteries in my camera where dead and I didn't see the point of posting without a pic or two. I caught some flack from a fellow blogger about that and was told to either buy new batteries or get a charger and rechargeable batteries. Well, guess what....I do have a charger and rechargeable batteries so that excuse just bit the dust...
I did finish the snowflake illusion scarf for my daughter. I just had an e mail from the designer and she will be sending a link out so we can post it on our blogs...that will make it easier to get the pattern.
I have also started
Samus from Knitty. Some of you may remember I did the Saxon Braid Scarf. The waist and cuffs on Samus are a variation of that cable. It is going quite quickly. I have 3 1/2 repeats of the 9 for the waist done so far.
BTW...I am using Lamb's Pride Worsted in a color called Tiger Lily. It is not as bright as the picture looks. I would call it more of a terracotta color.
Well, that is all for now...I promise to be a better blogger in the future and post more frequent updates :-)

Ene hit the frog pond |
I was almost done with chart one and I have been thinking that the left half just didn't look the same as the right. But I kept going, trying to convince myself that that was the nature of lace and it would look right when blocked.
Well, last night I finished chart one and I added a couple of sections to my denise needle set so I could stretch it out and see what was going on. My stitch count was right but apparently I got off track somewhere and the left half is a MESS!
I frogged it last night and am not sure when I will cast on again. I think I am going to cast on for Backyard Leaves and do Ene later this winter.

Lady Eleanor is 100% complete! |
I have finally finished Lady Eleanor. The main portion is done and the fringe is done. Here are a couple of shots. It is interesting how different the two pictures are. It is just opposite sides near each other...if that makes sense. And I really like the way the fringe turned out. I did not enjoy tying the knots...it hurt my neck to look down all that time while tying them.
Now I can't wait to use it. My plan was to wrap up in it while sitting in front of the fire. Who knew it would still be 80+ degrees in October in Upstate NY?!? This weekend looks like we might have a small fire but it will still be close to 70. Check with me in February when I am cursing the howling wind and the blowing snow!

Finished knittting Lady Eleanor |
I finished the knitting part of Lady Eleanor. Here she is blocking and drying... Yes, I did straighten it out after I took this picture.
All that is left is to crochet the short ends and add the fringe. I started it somewhere around Septemebr 9 so it has taken me a little less than a month to do. Not bad considering I am also working on Ene's scraf, too.
