I can't believe I finished this already. I started it one day last week. It was addicting...I would finish one 16 row repeat and want to do another to see how it turned out. It was nerve wracking to do the fringe. I had to bind off all but the last 5 stitches and then drop those five stitches off the needle and unravel them to make the fringe. I had swatched one repeat so I knew it worked but I held my breath waiting to see all those stitches unravel. Well, they didn't :-) Then I had to tie knots in each row of fringe to secure them. Just to test your math, do you know how may rows are in 16 repeats of a 16 row pattern??? 256!!! 256 knots I had to tie.
But know it is done and I will probably make another one for my mother. I used the new yarn Panache from Knit Picks for this one and I think it is comparable to Debbie Bliss Cashmerino bulky. My mother doesn't like anything wool but I think I will try to slip this one past her. And hey, if she doesn't like it I will have made a lovely scarf for.....ME!!!

it looks great! I can't wait to finish mine.
I've added a picture to mica's blog - the sweater I told you about before, very easy and fun. I did it with rolled neck, sleaves and bottom. Added the stripes myself.
the link to mica's blog is http://micaknits.blogspot.com/
It has a pic of the sweater I made for my DD
sorry to bug u again, but how many balls of panache did this take?
Hi APril,
i used 4 balls of panache and had none left over. I would recommend getting the 5th one just to be sure or make it one repeat short. I am a fairly tight knitter so if you knit looser you may need all 5 balls.
That scarf is simply gorgeous!
