Hubby completed my swift and I love it! It works like a dream. For less than $15 in materials, i have a swift that is just as nice as the ones that cost $75! Here it is holding a hank of Cascade 220. I think the size is just right.

What's it do? Does it actually wind a center pull ball?
You put the hank of yarn on the swift and then attach the end of the yarn to the ball winder. The swift takes the place of someone holding the hank for you.
That is FABULOUS!!! I really like it.. and so frugal too..
...Directions? >: )
I can totally see me gettin my dad to build one of those... allthough I bet it wouldn't be as nice as yours.. (he's not *that* handy)
Really cool though.. superific.
Hi Kim,
This is a bit out of the blue but I've tagged you for a meme! Details (and explanation) on my blog!

Hi, Are the directions for the swift available? I can not afford to buy one, but could come up with $15.00 in materials, and have my husband make me one. Please and Thanks.
Hi, just in case directions are available my email is watfamco@sbcglobal.net. thanks, Lyvon
