I am finished with one repeat of the snowflake pattern which means I am also done with the armhole decreases. I cast on for the armhole steeks a few rows back and that went well. THe numbers seem to work out correctly. I cast on using the backwards loop method but I am not sure that was the best way to do things. The steek seems to be only loosely attached to the body. Maybe for the neck steek I will try the knitted cast on. Any thoughts?
Here is a closer look at the snowflake pattern. It looks good, if I do say so myself
The only tricky part in this section so far was maintaining the decreases at the armholes in pattern. The decrease before the steek was easy but for the one after the steek, I had to stop and figure out where I was from the row below so it would stay in pattern.
And here is one more close up of the snowflake pattern. I feel like the end is in sight. Maybe this weekend I can finish it up. I called in sick today and did get a couple of rows done in between naps. ;-)

Wow.. that's really impressive : )
I'm glad you're almost done.. what an ordeal this has been!
Do you like the color changes now that you were worried about before? The horizontal stripes I guess you'd call em.. You were unsure about them before..
Anyway.. I think you're doin great : )
It's gorgeous! whew! I think I feel a little faint. I'll wait and pass out when I see the scissors. yyyeeeeeaaaaaagggggghhhhhh I'm already scared
Don't fuss about steeks -- you are going to cut through them later, and then they are going to be hidden inside, so no one is going to see them! Cutting is NOT scary.
It's looking really great so far. Makes me almost want to make one of my own! Hahahah -- almost! Nice choice of colours, clean design, with fun snowflakes to knit!
Thanks guys!
Yes, I like the color changes a little better now, they seem to fit when you look at the whole pattern.
April...stay tuned for the scary steeks...maybe this weekend. I will have a couple of hours of car knitting. Not sure if I can read a pattern while in the car but I am going to give it a try!
