The pirate mittens for my daughter are finished. I took about 2 days total to knit them. I made one last weekend and finished the second this morning. I know the one on the left looks smaller, but honest, they are the same size. I didn't bother blocking them because I know they will get some rough treatment from my daughter.
Here is a close up shot. I like the way the palms turned out.
My next project, besides the baby blanket I am working on and the in-progress cotton hoodie is this sweater fromKnit Simple magazine.
I am doing mine in Lamb's Pride Bulky in cream for the main color and the fair isle colors will be light pink and dark pink. I decided to reverse the colors on the chart because I like the light pink color better. So what is the darker blue in the picture will be light pink and what is light blue, that you can barely see, will be the darker pink. I scored an awesome deal at my LYS's pre super bowl sale. I got enough yarn for the sweater for $35!
I want to get the hoodie done before April because we are going to Pensacola, Florida! Yes, I am flying. I am not too nervous about it right now, but as it gets closer, I am sure I will. I think the weather will be perfect for the hoodie so I really need to get working on that.
