I am up to the raglan decreases on my Fair Isle Cardigan from Knit Simple. It is going pretty well, but I quickly learned I do not like doing stranded color work with 2-3 strands of bulky lamb's pride! My fingers are killing me. There are 4 rows in the pattern that have 3 colors in it...they were torture. Besides the fact that this is knit flat and I am doing colorwork on the purl side making all the yarns tangle like there is no tomorrow, the bulky yarn and fairly tight gauge just makes my fingers ache. Here is a pic of the back pinned out on my living room floor. It seems that the tighter the gauge for stockinette, the more it wants to roll. I had to pin it to the floor just to get these shots.
And here is a close of up the colorwork.
The pattern was written for a "heavy worsted" at 4 stitches per inch. I am getting gauge with the bulky lamb's pride with no problem. I only have about 10 more rows of color work for the back and then I can cast on for the fronts. I never thought I would look forward to boring, single color stockinette....

Dang Girl you are a fast knitter -- wanted to try to leave you a comment -- I know I have been frustrated and not leaving as many comments because I have to remember to log into my blog first or it doesn't go thru well....
Thanks Rho...big needles, big yarn, make for fast knitting :-)
Found your blog via KR, wanted to check to see if your comments worked. And btw, LOVE your color work, and the color pattern, really pretty!! =D
Pretty! You'll probably forget all about your aching fingers once it's done.
Thanks guys,
I hope my hands recover. They still hurt this morning!
Hey there, Kim! Love the colors on your sweater...and those pirate mittens below--arrrrgh they be cool! (Saw your post on KR and felt immediately guilty about being so out of touch).
awww terri! Don't feel guilty. I just thought there was a problem with blogger.
I have not been blogging regularly, what with all the surgery the past few months so I don't blame anyone for not keeping up with my blog.
