Not really, but I was anxious about the fit. I finished both front halves this weekend. This really is a fast knit. Big yarn, big needles make it go fast. I steam blocked the pieces with my iron and then sewed up the side seams. Then I tried it on and it fits! woo hoo! I had started out making the large for the back. Then I got nervous about the fit even though the finished measurements match a sweater that I like the fit of. The bulky yarn was scary me and I thought I might need a little more ease with the bulky yarn. So I made the front halves in the extra large size and I plan to make the extra large sleeves. I was able to block the back to match the front as far as the sleeve openings go. Here is a shot of the back of it.
I hope to be able to finish this up this week. I would love to wear it on Tuesday when the high temperature is going to be 9! but that is not going to happen. lol. Maybe I can wear it next week during February break from school.

You are doing a great job with this sweater / vest! I actually have this pattern bookmarked - watiing for the yarn to arrive. I am doing the whole sweater. I thought it was easy enough with the fair isle to get a grip with this technique.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks Vanessa! I really am making the whole sweater. I have both sleeves done but am in the process of ripping out the first one and re knitting...it came out too big. I sized down for the second sleeve and it fits beautifully!
