I scored some Noro!

My next project is theLady Eleanor Stole from Scarf Style. I orginally wanted to make a plain color one then started looking at Noro Kureyon. Then I looked at the price tag and thought "I need to find something cheaper."

As luck would have it, I was reading Knitter's Review tonight and happened across a post that said Purl SOHO was having a sale on Kureyon. Not expecting much I went and looked. $5.40 a skein!!!
I couldn't believe it. I decided to get color 92 which you can see here. I think it is similar to the yarn used in Scarf Style. I didn't want an exact copy but something similar. So at this price, even with shipping, it is way cheaper than I could have bought at my LYS today! :-). So much for the supposed yarn diet.

Purl's website says 3-7 days for shipping and there seems to be only positive reviews from KR members so by this time next week I should be casting on for Lady Eleanor!

I love that yarn, I'm so jealous =)
So I take it your MIL liked the scarf, so you started one for yourself? m/b? Just curious. I bet she flipped when you gave it to her.

Hi April,
I haven't given it to my MIL yet, it is for xmas. I know she will like it. The second one is for my mother. I am not crazy about the yarn...she won't wear anything with wool, mohair, cashmere so I had to find an acrylic. It certainly is not as soft.

Thanks Vicki..you can be good if you practice. But thanks, that was sweet

I found a nice cushy acrylic yarn at walmart of all places - the brand name is "mainstays crafts" they have a really cool looking chunky variety that I really like, and it's cheap! I have a serious issue with anything scratchy, so I usually hate acrylic. I also love to use chunky baby yarn for all sorts of stuff (just limited colors)
