I am making my second MSB in fall, sunflower colors. I wanted the bottom of the bag to look like a sunflower with colors ranging from gold to orange to dark orange followed by light green and dark green for the leaves.
I used the knitter's paintbox to design my bag. I also used this for the first one I made.
Last night I am down to the last 5 tiers and I notice the colors are not going to come out right. If I keep going, the dark green will be the center color on the bottom of the bag . I dug out my design that I printed from that website to make sure I hadn't accidently put the colors in the wrong order...nope...the print out looks fine with gold in the center of the bottom.
What is going on?? Then I notice that the diagram on the web page only has 13 tiers showing and the pattern has 15 !! Why would they do that? I never noticed it in the first bag because the first bag was just colors, not intended to look like anything special.
So I have decided I will end the bag 2 tiers short. It will end up being not quite as deep as my first one. I was not real aggressive when I blocked the first one because I didn't want it real big. So maybe when I block this one I can be a little more aggressive and get the size I want.
If you used that paintbox tool, did you realize it was 2 tiers less than the pattern?

Well that's just annoying. (Almost as annoying as the blurry pictures.) Why would they go through all the trouble to make that and make it wrong? Maybe you should email them and tell them about it... I mean.. that's just so silly.
Good idea...I just e mailed them and asked if they did that intentionally or what...
almost everything I start has some sort of error in it - I'm starting to get a complex -- So I totally feel your frustration with that
