Yes, that is right, this little cutie took me 3 hours to do from cast on to finishing the face. I can't tell you what I used because it was some craptastic acrylic I found in my stash. The black is lamb'pride. I got this pattern from my LYS a couple of years ago. It is a basic hat, cast on 88 stitches for a 2 year old size, knit for 5 1/2 inches and then switch to the black and decrease. I think it came out a little big because my gauge was a little off. It is for my nephew Nolan, who is 2 1/2. I will see him tomorrow when we celebrate Thanksgiving with the rest of the family.
I also made this cute little stocking in the past couple of days. I had originally planned on making the free stockin pattern from Knit Picks, but once again, I had trouble with a pattern from Knitpicks. Remember the Snowflake Vest from hell? Well the stocking pattern is written by a different person, but I had trouble with it too. Instead, I went with this pattern from knit net. Very easy to follow, and quick. The yarn is the new Shamrock from Knitpicks. I love this yarn. I love the fabric that knit up with size 9 needles. I am planning a zippered outerwear cardigan in this yarn and have already ordered the yarn from Knit Picks.
Last but not least is a progress shot of my Tumbling blocks sweater. This pattern came from Ram Wools but apparently they are not making the yarn anymore and have taken the pattern off their website. Not sure if you can see the pattern very well, but it is a simple combination of knit and purl that gives it the illusion of tumbling blocks. I have 14 inches done and it says to go until 25 inches before I divide for the armholes. I think that may be long. I am going to measure it against my coat and see how long to make it. It is intended to be oversized and outerwear, but I really don't want a sweater down to my knees! The yarn is Blue Sky Organic Cotton which is like butter!! It is the softest yarn I have ever felt.
Quick post surgery update: I am feeling stronger everyday and walking a bit further everyday the weather cooperates. It has been in the 50's the past couple of days and is supposed to be near 60 tomorrow! In Upstate NY! In November!! I had to make a quick trip to the doctor's on Friday. Apparently my body does not like the sutures. I have had this problem with past surgeries, too. The doctor snipped the offending suture and sent me on my way. No big deal.
Tomorrow we celebrate Thanksgiving with my in laws. I always enjoy seeing my in laws so I am sure we will have a good time. Hope I don't get too tired out.

Hey Kim...nice to see you knitting again. The hat is adorable, and all the other WIPs are looking good. Take care of yourself.
Thanks Terri!
All of a sudden my interest in knitting has picked up. I am feeling better each day and find I want to do more than just lounge on the couch, lol
The snowman hat is adorable! I may have to make them for my grandchildren.
