Made it 1/2 day

Went into work today and made it until 1 pm. I was soo tired, I just had to leave. It was difficult walking in the schools; I never realized how long the hallway is in the elmentary school...and why does Brad's classroom have to be at the very opposite end of the building from the front door? But at least I got a B-I-G hug for my efforts! :-)

Everyone was glad to see me. Some people know what happened, others just know I was out sick. It is getting tiring giving the whole story over and over. The most common statement today, from the women at least, was "You look great, you've lost a lot of weight!". Yeah 22 lbs certainly shows, but I would not recommend my way of losing the weight.

My Superintendent was quite understanding when I told him I needed to go home. He said "I'd rather have you here part-time than no time." I spoke with my dr today and I am going to work 1/2 days at least for this week, maybe next week too. The week after that is President's break so I will have the whole week off. They will have to adjust my pay because i am out of sick time but it will be worth it.

I had my blood drawn again today and my INR is 4.2. I little high so I have to adjust the meds again and have it checked next Monday. I found out today that my INR takes at least 3 days to respond to a dosage change, so that is why I am only being checked weekly. When I had my first clot in 1985, they didn't check INR, just PT levels, and they respond more quickly and therefore I had more frequent blood draws. Once a week is fine with me; even the paper tape is bothering my skin. I had paper tape on for about 1/2 hour this morning and had tape burns when I took it off.

So I will go in tomorrow morning, and then Wednesday afternoon. I think that should help getting back into the swing of things.
